Gospel In Scriptures

Gospel In Scriptures:

Mark 1:14-15 After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

The Gospel according to Luke that Jesus commanded the apostles to preach:

Luke 10:9 Heal the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

Predictions:

Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Luke 2:10-11 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

The Apostle and Evangelist Matthew summarized the Gospel message three times.

The Gospel message that John the Baptist preached:
Matthew 3:1-2
In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

The Gospel message that Jesus preached:
Matthew 4:17
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

The Gospel message that Jesus instructed the Apostles to preach:
Matthew 10:7
As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’

Warning:

Galatians 1:8-9 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

Jesus rejected as “King of The Jews” by the nation of Israel:
John 1:11-12 “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

This is not receiving Jesus like a coin or a gift that you put in your pocket, the context is being received as King over all of creation (see also verses 1-3).

The Gospel confirmed by the Apostle Paul as being prophesied, and is about the coming King who descends from the line of David:

Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God—
The context follows in verses 2-4 the SAME gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life a was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

The context: The Gospel is the promised King that would come from the line of David (see above)

4 – Commentary: the use of the word “salvation” was prolific in the Old Testament, by the leaders of Rome at the time, and by most societies of the region for thousands of years to speak of the protection of the King, or the protection of God to save from enemies, famine, etc. This is why the Jews had a division in doctrine between the Pharisees who believed in a resurrection of a soul to be saved, and the Sadducees who believed that once a soul dies, that is the end of it. In the context beginning in verse 1, they are speaking about the topic prophesied in Isaiah 49:6 where God declared the Messiah would be a light for the Gentiles (nations), and not just the nation of Israel. Therefore, there is no need for other nations to be under the law given to the nation of Israel in order to have the Salvation of the Messiah.
